On this page
In short: Torchlite is a free game server host located in Bucharest, Romania. Minecraft, Terraria, Hytale, Factorio, Don't Starve Together, Unturned, Assetto Corsa, MTA: San Andreas, SA-MP, open.mp, Counter-Strike 1.6, TeamSpeak 6 and Discord bots run on two Intel Xeon Gold 6134 CPUs behind zero.ms DDoS protection, with a 1-10 Gbps network. It is run by ARTAD CREATIVE S.R.L., a Romanian company, and sponsored by TorchByte, a hosting company in Bucharest. It costs nothing: a short ad break in the panel pays for each start and renew.
Why the location matters
Ping is mostly distance. Many big free hosts run their servers in Western Europe or North America, so a player in Romania crosses half a continent or an ocean on every packet. With the server in Bucharest, players in Romania and Moldova, and in neighbouring countries such as Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and Ukraine, usually reach it with a much shorter route. In fast games like Counter-Strike 1.6, MTA or a Minecraft PvP server, that is the difference you feel.
Players further away can still join, of course. Western Europe is a short hop from Bucharest too.

The GTA: San Andreas multiplayer mods and Counter-Strike 1.6 have long-running communities in Romania; a free server close to them is what Torchlite was built for.
In Romanian, from a Romanian company
The whole website, the guides and the emails are in Romanian as well as English. The company behind Torchlite is ARTAD CREATIVE S.R.L. (CUI 52756946), registered in Romania, so the terms and the privacy policy follow Romanian and EU law, and support answers in Romanian on Discord and at [email protected].
The hardware
- CPU: two Intel Xeon Gold 6134 processors.
- Memory: DDR4-2666 ECC.
- Storage: enterprise HDDs.
- Network: 1-10 Gbps, filtered by zero.ms DDoS protection.
The plans page lists how much of it each free server gets.
How it stays free
Each start and each renew shows a short ad break in the panel, 2 or 3 ads depending on the plan, and those ads pay for the servers. While a server runs, someone presses Renew every 30 to 50 minutes, or once a day for a Discord bot. The renewal guide has every rule.
