Q: Is Torchlite really free?

Yes. You never pay and we never ask for a card. The servers are paid for by ads: starting or renewing a free server in the panel shows a short ad break, 2 ads on Lite and Bot and 3 on Turbo and Max, and a running server needs a renew every 50, 40 or 30 minutes, by plan, or once a day for a Discord bot. Ad blockers have to be off in the panel. TorchByte sponsors the hardware.

Q: What do the free plans include?

Lite: 1.5 GB RAM, 1.25 CPU cores and 15 GB of disk. Turbo: 3 GB RAM, 1.5 cores and 20 GB. Max, for Hytale and Forge or NeoForge modpacks: 4.2 GB RAM, 1.8 cores and 35 GB. Bot, for Discord bots in Node.js or Python: 512 MB RAM, half a core and 3 GB. Every server gets one backup of up to 10 GB and one MySQL database, two on Max. One account can hold one free game server, on any plan, plus one Discord bot.

Q: Which games can I host?

Minecraft Java (Paper, Purpur, Spigot, Fabric, Folia, NeoForge, Forge), Terraria (vanilla, TShock, tModLoader), Hytale, Factorio, Don't Starve Together, Unturned, MTA: San Andreas, SA-MP, open.mp, Counter-Strike 1.6, Assetto Corsa and TeamSpeak 6. You can also host a Discord bot in Node.js or Python.

Q: Why is stock limited?

We don't want to overload the machine. Each node has a fixed number of slots so every server keeps running well. When we add capacity, we post it on Discord first.

Q: What happens if I stop using my server?

If nobody shows up in the panel for 5 days, the server is deleted and the slot goes to someone who is waiting. Logging into the panel resets the timer, and we email you before anything gets removed.

Q: What hardware will my server run on?

A node with two Intel Xeon Gold 6134 CPUs (16 cores, 32 threads, up to 3.7 GHz), DDR4-2666 ECC memory and enterprise HDD storage, on a 1-10 Gbps connection.

Q: Where are my server's files stored?

On enterprise SAS hard drives in the same machine that runs your server.

Q: Am I protected against DDoS attacks?

Yes. Every server is behind zero.ms DDoS protection. Attacks are filtered before they reach your server.

Q: What access do I get to my server?

Full access. You get a live console, start, restart and stop buttons, resource graphs, SFTP, subusers for your friends and an activity log. Each server also gets one backup and one MySQL database, two on the Max plan. It's your server, we only host it.

Q: What if I need more resources?
