Cookie Policy

Every cookie and every bit of browser storage that torchlite.host and the control panel use, by name: what it does, who sets it and how long it stays. Only statistics and fair use need your OK, and you can change your answer here at any time.

Your choice

You have not answered yet, so statistics and fair use are off.

  • Needed to work

Logging in, your language, your cookie choice and security checks. Always on.

  • Statistics

Microsoft Clarity shows us, without your name, where pages confuse people. Off means it never loads.

  • Fair use

A random browser id, sent when you create a server, so one person cannot take many free servers through many accounts. Off never stops you from creating a server.

On this device right now

What your browser holds from torchlite.host at this moment. Login cookies are hidden from scripts on purpose, so they never show here.

01The short version

  • The site and the panel need a few cookies to log you in, remember your language and keep forms safe. These are always on, because nothing works without them.
  • Microsoft Clarity, which shows us where pages confuse people, loads only after you say yes. Until then not a byte of it reaches your browser.
  • A random browser id that helps keep one free server per person is set only after you say yes to "Fair use". Saying no never stops you from creating a server.
  • The ads on the site today are our own banners, which set no cookies. While Google reviews the site for its ads, Google's AdSense script also loads on our public pages and its consent tool sets one cookie, FCCDCF (see Advertising).
  • We never use cookies to follow you across other websites, and we sell nothing about you.

02Needed to work

These need no consent: the law allows cookies that are strictly needed for a service you asked for. They are all first-party, set by torchlite.host or game.torchlite.host.

phpMyAdmin, at db.torchlite.host, sets its own login and settings cookies while you use it to manage your server's database.

The panel's login page shows our Discord server's widget, loaded from discord.com, which can set Discord's own cookies; Discord lists them in its cookie policy. Cloudflare, which carries all our traffic, sets __cf_bm only when it checks for bots.

03Stored in your browser, not cookies

A few things are kept in your browser's local or session storage. They never leave your device by themselves and we cannot read them from our servers.

torchlite-provision
Type: Local storage
What it does: The progress of a server being built, so the page picks up where it was if you reload.
Kept for: Until the server is ready
torchlite-ads-notice

What it does: That you have seen the note about the ad break, so it is not shown twice.
Kept for: Until you clear it

Kept for: Until you clear it
tl-m

Kept for: Until you clear it
<server>:command_history

tl-pumpkin-hunt-2026

What it does: Which Halloween pumpkins you found in the panel.
Kept for: Until you clear it
tl-ab-notice, tl-m, file editor drafts
Type: Session storage (panel)
What it does: That you saw the ad-blocker notice, the ad-blocker count for this visit, and unsaved text in the file editor.
Kept for: Until you close the tab

04Statistics, only with your OK

We use Microsoft Clarity on torchlite.host and in the panel to see where pages confuse people: clicks, scrolling and the pages opened, as heatmaps and replays. Text typed into fields is masked before it leaves your browser; in the control panel, and where the site shows your email address, all text is masked, so consoles, files and passwords never reach a replay. We never use Clarity for ads. These cookies are set only if you say yes; Microsoft lists them here.

_clck
Set by: torchlite.host (Clarity)
What it does: Tells your visits apart, without your name.
Kept for: 1 year
_clsk
Set by: torchlite.host (Clarity)
What it does: Joins the pages of one visit into one replay.
Kept for: 1 day
_cltk
Set by: Session storage (Clarity)
What it does: Keeps track of the current recording while the tab is open.
Kept for: Until you close the tab
CLID
Set by: clarity.ms (Microsoft)
What it does: Recognises the same browser across sites that use Clarity.
Kept for: 1 year
MUID
Set by: clarity.ms, bing.com (Microsoft)
What it does: Microsoft's identifier for the browser.
Kept for: 1 year
ANONCHK, SM, MR
Set by: clarity.ms, bing.com (Microsoft)
What it does: Help Microsoft link the visit to its own services and check the MUID.
Kept for: Up to 7 days

Microsoft processes this data as described in its privacy statement. Saying no, or changing a yes to a no later, stops Clarity and deletes the first three at once; the Microsoft cookies on clarity.ms and bing.com expire by themselves, or you can delete them from your browser.

05Fair use, only with your OK

To keep one free allowance per person, the page where servers are created can give your browser a random id and send it with each new server, so we can see when several accounts make servers from the same browser. It says nothing about you or your device. It is set only if you say yes to "Fair use"; saying no never stops you from creating a server. More in the Privacy Policy.

__Host-torchlite_device
Set by: torchlite.host
What it does: The browser id, sent with a new server.
Kept for: 2 years
torchlite-device
Set by: Local storage and IndexedDB
What it does: Copies of the same id, so clearing cookies alone does not look like a new browser.
Kept for: Until you clear it or say no

Changing a yes to a no deletes all three copies from your browser at once.

06Advertising

The ads on torchlite.host and in the panel are, for now, our own banners for TorchByte and our partners: plain pictures and links that set no cookies. A link to TorchByte carries our affiliate code, so TorchByte can see that the visit came from us.

While Google reviews torchlite.host for its ads, Google's AdSense script is loaded on our public pages (not on the pages where you log in or create a server). It shows no ads yet, but your browser contacts Google, which receives your IP address and browser details, and Google's consent tool sets one cookie:

FCCDCF
Set by: .torchlite.host (Google)
What it does: Google's consent tool for ads keeps its state here.
Kept for: 13 months

Google describes its advertising cookies here. Before the first Google ad appears, this page will list Google's ad cookies and you will be asked again, with personalised ads off unless you turn them on.

07Changing your mind

Use the switch at the top of this page, or "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page. Your new answer applies at once, on the site and in the panel.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Blocking the ones needed to work logs you out and stops forms from being sent; everything else keeps working.

08Changes and questions

When we add or remove a cookie we update this page and its date first. If the change needs consent, we ask you again.

Questions go to [email protected], or by post to ARTAD CREATIVE S.R.L., Str. Republicii nr. 8, bl. 8, sc. C, ap. 13, Suceava, jud. Suceava, Romania. The Privacy Policy explains what we do with personal data and your rights.
